The Environmental Impact of Printing
At itPrints!, we believe reducing environmental waste is just good business.
Reducing paper use, recycling document-related consumables and strategically acquiring environmentally responsible hardware are some of the recommendations we make to help our clients meet their sustainability initiatives while also decreasing their overall office printing costs.
There are several steps any business can take to decrease their impact on the environment while also driving down expenses associated with printing, including:
- Duplex printing: Printing on both sides of a page instead of a single side can cut your paper costs and usage in half immediately.
- Using private printing: Using private printing features, available on most MFPs and many printers, can decrease the number of abandoned print jobs. Most devices can be programmed so that a user must input a PIN or security code on the keypad of the device in order to begin a print job. Unclaimed or abandoned jobs are simply not printed, saving precious environmental resources money at the same time.
- Scan to email instead of faxing: You need never print a document to be faxed again! Scanned documents can be sent via email. The recipient can view it, archive it, forward it or print it.
- Print only what you need: Check documents and emails before you print them. Eliminate unnecessary pages, reformat to condense onto fewer pages, and duplex print it. This strategy alone can save on overall print costs, and decrease usage of resources.
We are committed to helping our clients to meet or exceed their individual sustainability goals. Through our Total Coverage program, we can help you to reduce waste and the environmental impact that results from wasted paper, toner and other supplies.
